Peter Cetera, or well known as the former lead singer, songwriter and bass player of the multi-platinum group CHICAGO, will embark on his world tour with a series of concerts covering the US and Australasia beginning from January 2009.
Proudly organized by Star Planet, Peter will perform on 01 March 09 at Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands at 8pm. Concert tickets are priced at RM283 (VIP), RM233 (PS1), RM173 (PS2), RM123 (PS3) and RM83 (PS4).
For the first time after more than 15 years, Peter has recently reformed his classic 7-piece electric band and decided on the 2009 world tour. Peter’s followers will expect to see another exciting performance format featuring a bevy of smash hits from both his solo career and his days with the classic rock group Chicago.
Peter who is now a distinguished solo artist (since 1986) has one of the most unique voices in the rock music history and he continues to gain wide recognition. His first released album ‘Solitaire/Solitude’ in 1986 was a great success, sold over 1 million copies and the first single, "Glory of Love" (the theme to the movie The Karate Kid, Part II), was a US No. 1 hit in 1986. It went on to win ASCAP Award and BMI Film & TV Award for the Most Performed Songs from Motion Pictures. It was also nominated for both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe in the category of Best Original Song, as well as a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Male Artist.
The hits have continued on his subsequent albums. His third album, titled One More Story, yielded "One Good Woman," which rose to #1 on the adult contemporary charts. On 1992's World Falling Down, "Restless Heart" stayed at #1 for ten weeks. Cetera released his fifth album, One Clear Voice, and the "Forever Tonight," is skyrocketing up the charts.
As the lead singer and bassist of Chicago, Cetera also wrote some of the biggest hits of the rock and pop music era including "If You Leave Me Now," "Baby, What a Big Surprise," "You're the Inspiration," "Stay the Night," "Feeling Stronger Every Day" and "Hard To Say I'm Sorry." Of their 17 albums, three went platinum, nearly all of them went gold and their first four appeared on the best-seller list all at one time. At one point "If You Leave Me Now" was the #1 song in both the U.S. and Britain.

A recent public statement has been released from the artiste management company, announcing the cancellation of shows in the Far East regions including Singapore, Australia and Malaysia. Two shows which are supposed to take place on 27 February 2009 at University Malaysia Sabah, and on 01 March 2009 at Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands will be called off.
