 Frances Yip, a Cantopop singer from Hong Kong sang many TV theme songs for the Hong Kong TVB series between 1980s and early 1990s.  She hit international fame with her signature tune, The Bund from the popular TVB drama of the same time. 

With a talent and personality as cosmopolitan as her birthplace in Hong Kong, this legendary entertainer has performed in more than 30 countries on five continents.  She is equally at home singing Chinese opera at a nightclub in Singapore or a popular English ballad at London’s prestigious Savoy Hotel. Her critics were unanimous in their praise : “Vibrant and exciting, “Sheer professionalism”, “Indeed – simply the best” and  “A majestic voice talent”.  This talent ultimately sums Frances as “Asia’s leading lady of song”.

A breast cancer survivor herself, Frances’ involvement in this concert is intentional, as a mark of gratitude to fans who prayed hard for her recovery back then.  Today she strongly advocates Early Detection of Breast Cancer Saves Lives.  Her performance will be backed by her longtime collaborative orchestra dating back to three decades.  The Orchestra comprises 32 all-Malaysian members.

The concert will showcase Frances presenting more than a dozen songs, including, a segment fully devoted to Hong Kong television theme songs. She will be taking Malaysians on a 41-year musical journey, combining golden oldies and contemporary hits. Fans can expect her rendering in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
