Two men wait expectantly for a mysterious man by the name of Godot to arrive. They occupy themselves with silly conversation; they argue, joke, sing, dance and even contemplate suicide. Who is this Godot they are waiting for? Does he arrive?
Hailed as the most significant English language play of the 20th Century, Waiting for Godot is a masterpiece by the Nobel Prize winning Irish avant-garde writer, dramatist and poet Samuel Beckett. It is a prominent example of a “Theater of the Absurd” work.
This adaptation is based on a performance concept conceived by Jerome Kugan and Rohaizad Suaidi. It is ambitious as the two leading male characters will be portrayed as two 'Mak Nyahs' - played by Fairuz Tauhid (Fee) and Yuki Choe. This performance also features singer-songwriter Jerome Kugan in his stage debut in the role of 'the boy'. He is also the production's music designer.
