Drifting fever has caught on strong in Malaysia and is spreading fast. Although there are no official statistics, but assumptions on the popularity of the sport can be drawn from the following observations. Drifting events, demonstrations/challenges are held at least once or twice a month. These activities attract crowds ranging from 5,000 to the record breaking 15,000 spectators recently seen at the Goodyear Formula Drift Malaysia 2009 – the most in any drifting event in South East Asia.
