Proudly organized by Star Planet, the "George Lam & the Symphony Orchestra Live in Malaysia 2009" will take the stage of Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands on 25 April 2009 at 8p.m.
Produced in commemorating the 30th Anniversary of his music career, George Lam started out his world tour concerts since mid 2008 filling arenas in Toronto, Hong Kong and Guangzhou in which he had won thunderous applause.
Rumored to be his last world tour before retirement, this concert is backed with full orchestra intended to hot up the live mood of the concert and it is expected to be a trip down memory lane with George Lam, a man well known for his eccentric, satirical humor, cool demeanor and that moustache.
The concert will feature his many hits such as “Nan Er Dang Zi Qiang” (男儿当自强), “Fen Fen Zhong Xu Yao Ni” (分分钟需要你), “Zai Shui Zhong Yang” (在水中央), “Zhen De Han Zi” (真的汉子), “Mei Yi Ge Wan Shang” (每一个晚上), “Xuan Ze” (选择), among others.
Lam was the lead singer for a band called "Jade" until he went solo with his first English album "Lam" in 1976. His first Cantonese album, having the same name, was also released in the same year. He also recorded two versions of the Billy Joel song "Uptown Girl" in Cantonese. Lam has remained popular in Hong Kong for three decades. He writes a number of his own songs; some of them have also been recorded by other singers including Teresa Carpio and Sally Yeh.
