A monk sets off on a pilgrimage in the desert with an unwelcomed companion. Driven by desperation, a beggar has decided to join him on this pilgrimage thinking that sumptous food, abundant women and happiness awaits him in the holy land. Of course his vision of the holy land defers from that of the monk's. Do they find this elusive holy land of theirs?
