After 10 years, The Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT) will be returning to Kuala Lumpur for a special two-night only performance!
Fresh from its breathtaking performance of Giselle, the SDT is set to enthrall dance lovers in KL with a diverse evening of both contemporary and classical ballet works that showcase the versatility and virtuosity of its dancers. It is a perfect introduction to the verve and vitality that is synonymous with SDT's unique identity as a company that is equally adept at these challenging and varied genres of dance.
Piano Concerto No. 2, Opus 102
A 20-minute piece that features 7 female and 9 male dancers on stage in a fast-paced and exciting work. The music of the first movement of this choreography was featured in the Disney movie, Fantasia 2000.
Glow-Stop
Created by Jorma Elo, Glow Stop has been described as "dynamic and devilish” with gravity-defying gyrations, kinetic and static from one moment to the next.
Swan Lake Act II
The beautiful Odette has been cast under a spell by the sorcerer Rothbart and turned into a swan. She can only reveal her true human form by nightfall. Prince Siegfried, chances upon Odette and they fall in love.
Raymonda
A celebrative medley of pas de deux (dance by two performers) and pas de dix (dance by ten performers), this excerpt is a veritable feast for the senses that shows off the grace, vigour, and vitality of the dancers.
