Zaz accepts no boundaries. Her influences extend from traditional French music, afro-Latino influences with a hint of jazz-swing. Since her stint at a music school in Bordeaux, she has kept moving and playing, waltzing from a project to another.
She started making a name for herself, especially after winning a new talent contest at Olympia, Paris's famous music hall. Since then her incomparable voice led her to the most outstanding stages: she has performed in a salt mine in Colombia for free, in front of 10 000 people in a stadium in Hendaye (France) and even in Siberia with talented French singers.
The Basque Country, Africa, Latin America… wherever she goes, she finds people to play music with, no matter who nor how. Combining Folk, blues, French chanson, jazz or soul, Zaz expresses the vitality of French Nouvelle Scene.
